Dear STEAM Professionals:

Dear STEAM Professionals

We are entering the Golden Age of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics.  AI will deliver unimaginable efficiency and breakthroughs in the Createch Domains. However, beneath the hype, there is the stern warning to “keep the humans in the loop”. The perils of misappropriated STEAM is our problem to resolve. We need to take responsibility.

Purveyors of AI Technology will have a voracious appetite for our domain expertise, but offer few provisions to pay for it. Rather, it will now be “inferred” from the data that we create, enable, teach, and share. It is called “AI Equity” and we wear it between our ears.  If we don’t own it, someone else will gladly own it for us.

The problem arises: How do we advance the STEAM professions if the formative work needed to develop expertise is uncompensated? Clearly, the compensation and attribution model needs to be modernized if the STEAM professions, and AI itself, are to be sustained.

This is a complex issue that resolves to a single starting point. STEAMs must be compensated in whole or in part as a fair percentage of the true economic value that they contribute to society. This won’t happen by itself and we’ll need to be fiendishly clever in order to pull this off at an institutional level.

Welcome to the Ingenesist Project.

The only difference between an intangible asset and a tangible asset is in the way they are measured. If we simply measure our value differently, real options can follow.

To understand the enormity of this opportunity:

There are trillions of dollars of invisible value sitting on the table waiting to be measured into existence. Please consider the following:

  • According to Nobel Laureate Dr. Robert Solow, 80% of economic growth can be attributed to STEAMs.(Source)
  • According to the National Academy of Engineering, Science, and Medicine, 70% of the US GDP is supported by STEAM professionals.(Source)
  • According to the National Research Council, 93% of US Stock Market value is derived from intangible assets. (Source)
  • GDP regulates money supply, so measure GDP differently.

The irony is that STEAMs are the only ones with the knowledge, ability, and creativity to accomplish this – but we’ll need to work together. Please consider becoming a patron or participant in The Ingenesist Project. We welcome you, your colleagues, contacts, or contributions.

The Ingenesist Project:

The Ingenesist Project is developing a platform that leverages Game Theory, Blockchain Technology, and Artificial Intelligence to convert Intangible Assets to a more tangible form.

Here’s how you can be part of this transformative journey:
